Nicola Wilson Reaping Rewards from Amerigo Partnership
Leading Italian saddle brand Amerigo has teamed up with International event rider Nicola Wilson to provide its precision dressage and jumping saddles for her string of horses.
A member of the silver medal winning eventing team at the London 2012 Olympics, riding Rosemary Search's Opposition Buzz (Dodi), this well-loved rider/horse partnership has had a long and very successful career. Dodi is now retired from 4* events but Nicola has a host of exciting up and coming young horses who are already achieving notable results wearing the Amerigo Vega range of saddles that incorporate a specially created synthetic tree.
Beltane Queen is at the start of her top-level career and competed at her first Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials earlier this year, while Annie Clover has finished in the top ten of every event, including being placed 4th at this year’s Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials. One Two Many has been consistent at 3* level and Ngong Hills, by the same sire as Opposition Buzz, is also showing real promise for the future.
“The saddles fit all 12 horses perfectly and I’m thoroughly enjoying riding in them,” said Nicola. “I have one mare who is quite sensitive and I have struggled to find a saddle that was right for her, but as soon as we put the Amerigo on she seemed much happier and I’ve noticed a real difference”.
Nicola continues, “I feel very balanced riding in the Amerigo saddles and therefore very much part of the horse whether on the flat or jumping. It is also reassuring to have the technical support from such a renowned brand, as it ensures the horses are using saddles that suit them individually.”
Simon Middleton, managing director at Zebra Products Ltd, the exclusive UK distributor of Amerigo products said, “We are delighted that such an established rider competing at the very highest level has joined the Amerigo family, and we are thrilled to hear that Nicola is getting on so well with her Amerigo Vega saddles. I believe that this is a real partnership rather than just simply a sponsorship agreement and one which we’re very proud to be part of.”
