Lara Butler won the inaugural Cavalor Intermediate II Gold Championship (20 September, LeMieux National Dressage Championships) riding Dr and Mrs W Bechtolsheimer’s 13 year old bay gelding, Kristjan on a score of 71.61%. Georgia Stokes took second place (70.05%) on her own Talented Mr Ripley and Sadie Smith came third (69.95%) on her own Keystone Dynamite.

The hotly contended class took place in the most testing of conditions between Storm Ali and Storm Bronagh, with all seventeen regional finalists maintaining their composure during the high winds.

Lara Butler, who is a Zebra Products ambassador, said of her win: “I am so proud of Kristjan who produced a really good test in very windy conditions, in spite of a couple of spooky moments. I’d like to say thanks to Cavalor for sponsoring the Championship and providing some lovely prizes.”

Simon Middleton, managing director of Zebra Products, distributors of Cavalor in the UK added: “It was really impressive to see such a high standard of competition and we were particularly delighted that Lara won. Congratulations to all of the competitors for some outstanding dressage in the most challenging of conditions weather wise. Thank you for making our dressage sponsorship debut so successful.
